On a calm sea, flooded sun, more than 1000
participants left to fishing to information, yesterday morning, within the framework of
the 6th edition of the operation of recencement of the Cetacea.
The day Delphis day falls under the
continuity of monthly scientific campaigns organized by the RIMMO (maritime
international Reserve in the Western Mediterranean) between the continent and
Corsica, with an aim of collecting a maximum of information on the presence of Cetacea, as
well as taking away of plankton and sea water.
« Each boat was to take eight or nine samples of sea water. That asks for then
months of analysis and the results of this day could be communicated only in November,
announces Mike Riddell, based with Antibes and organizer of this demonstration. That
being, one sees more and more large dolphin called "Flipper". I saw a group of
ten dolphins of this species to 20 miles with the broad one. With regard to the
"Truncatus" and the "Tursiops", they are the two species most seen in
the Mediterranean, and the quoted last more frequently sees herself between Saint-Tropez
and Marseilles.»
In the meantime awaiting the quantified assessment of this 6th
edition, the conclusions of this day is positive as well on the level of the participants
as of the organizers who made serious efforts on the training level. " All the
participants were equipped with nets in plankton and each person passed an examination
written and noted on the various species of Cetacea met. I think that this edition will be
one of most reliable on the level of the results" , affirms Mike Riddell.
The
people of the department of Var had answered present at the image of the 30 boats,
including 18 sailing ships, parties of the quays of Port-Frejus, of which the transporting
"La Brigante" of the children autists.

At a cruising speed of 5 nodes, for lack of wind, the
boats furrowed the Mediterranean up to 18 miles off the of the department of Var coasts.
The occasion to see evolving/moving a superb bank of dolphins blue and white, not savage
of the whole.
" the conditions quite simply were marvellous. If we
actually saw Cetacea, one can however regret the too great number of apparent waste,
plastic bags, bottles, etc. As envisaged, we carried out taking away of water in the 12
hour old neighbourhoods " , specified on its arrival the coordinator,
Philippe Manon. The fleet azuréenne gave the tone before leaving clear room to the
Italian flotilla which, because of the node of G8 in Genoa, could not take the sea, as it
is the case each year, at the same time as the French sailing ships.
Their side, the participants transalpins will continue
their search the next weekend.
At the
sight of the banks of dolphins, violent ones cries of joy, glances filled with wonder. Their
eyes overflowed of happiness, on their face an intense expression of cheerfulness.
In the framework of the operation Delphis, eight young
autists of the Institute the Rescue of Tales embarked Port-Frejus yesterday, on board
Brigante, a sailing ship of 18 m to red hull, not to count the dolphins, but to go at
their meeting, time the one day.
Recent studies in
Israel would indeed evoke a possibility of opening of the child to the communication under
the influence of the aquatic environment. If Houttekens Pebble, psychotherapist, remain
careful as for the results of the delphinothérapie on the autists, it does not hesitate
to establish it parallel between the medium of the sea and the interior world of these
children, and to announce notable progress. Thus, this first approach with the marine
world it made it possible Laetitia to tame this medium, inhospitable with the first
access, and to adopt a more open behavior, more calms " This meeting with the sea is
a true meeting with oneself, but also an opening towards the external world."
PhilippeManon, president of Association
"the Song of the dolphins", hopes to renew the operation,
"first part of a building".
"the
dolphinotherapy is a long-term job, adds Pierrette Houttekens, the result, if there
exists, will not be instantaneous, but we are ready to contribute to it".
